Automate Dashboard Export

Hi there. I would like to know if this is possible...I have very limited knowledge of OBIEE and I do not have access to the repository. We are on Oracle Business Intelligence 11.1.1.7.140527
I have created a Dashboard that contains 8 analyses.
My dashboard has 2 prompts...Quarter defaults the current quarter and Supplier.
Currently our user goes to the dashboard and specifically queries and exports the results manually for about 30 suppliers...This takes her about a day.
Is there a way that we can automate this? I've looked at agents but I don't see anywhere in there to set specific Supplier values for the Dashboard prompts. I access OBIEE via Windows.
Thanks,
Janel

Why not have publicly facing presentation server and allow the vendor/supplier to get their own data & analyses? ... not too hard to give them each a login and filtering data based on that login.

+1 to Thomas - a "pull" concept where people come to pick up what they need is most of the time better than a generic "push" mechanism. More often than not that just turns into spamming.

That sounds great but is completely beyond my control. AFAIK there is nothing publicly facing and isn't in the works...everything is kept inhouse. Also I think our users want this information for themselves as well so they can monitor the supplier performance.

Hello,
why dont you save the 30 suppliers as default values in prompt? or use saved customization for each user and send the dashboard as ibot as recepient, so that they will get their required data.
Thanks

Most likely the 30 supplies aren't actual user accounts, so the implicit login as the recipient would not work

Oh sure that's always an Option. Would be fun to hear the OPs take on this

Just a note for the OP: if you create users even just to send content via agents ... you need licenses for all these users

Yeap. Named user licenses...30 of those maybe make it worthwhile to have a Person do it manually in terms on money :-P

Hi @anasazii
You can always pre-set the prompt values with a Go&URL passing also the "&Option=d" to download to excel.
This could save you time if done properly
For more information about the Go&Url check https://docs.oracle.com/cd/E14571_01/bi.1111/e16364/apiwebintegrate.htm#BIEIT357
