add environment instance to report

Hello all,
Have a client that would like to display the environment instance and/or server name on each report created in BI Answers. How do I add this information. For example , they would like to see if report was generated from test instance or dev instance, etc.

Via variables? You can put anything into variables and use them wherever you want

Thanks for the links,
I don't want to go the way of changing the repository but looks like the function "valueof "maybe useful, just need to figure out how to use it.

I'm not sure to understand what you are trying to say here...
You do not want to change the RPD but want to use VALUEOF(). How do you think that will work? Valueof() will use unicorn dust and invent a value for something it doesn't know?!

No, I don't believe in unicorns. After reading further I now know more about the function. I am looking for a simple sql statement that can pull server name into a variable at the report level. Thanks.

Creating a static RPD variable which contains the host name or environment literally takes 5 seconds to do. Why insist on non-standard things?

@deahayes I think you can close this thread. You won't get any other answer.
