Hi all,

is it possible to download the rpd (using data-model-cmd.sh script) while the obis1 is down?

While trying to start the BI server, I get the following error in the obis1-diagnostic.log file:

Oracle BI Server startup failed.[nQSError: 13042] Repository password is wrong.

Not sure this is possible as the BI Server is required for repository connectivity. The other question is why would you want your BI Server down anyway?

    Which version are you using?

If you are using  an earlier 12c version you should upgrade to the latest version.

Please check this post at rittmanmead: https://www.rittmanmead.com/blog/2016/02/obiee-12c-repository-password-corruption-issue/

The comments have some good information as well

Edit: You probably still need to apply the solution suggested by Robin, upgrading might not fix a rpd which is already  corrupted

The problem is that I cannot start it because of the error: Oracle BI Server startup failed.[nQSError: 13042] Repository password is wrong.

The other problem is that I don't have a bakcup of my RPD. :-(

    Martin, thank you.

The version I'm using is 12.2.1.0.0 and I've already seen this article from rittmanmead.com.  The problem is that I don't have a backup RPD so I was hoping I could get the RPD without downloading it.

I'll try to uprade the BI server to the latest patch and see if it is working.

    thank you all..

    Joel,

    thank you for the link..

But, I assume that I need a backup copy of RPD on my Windows PC to generate the XML and then copy this XML to the server and generate the RPD from it? Unfortunately, I don't have a backup of my RPD.

The only RPD files that I have are: liverpd.rpd and the liverpd.rpd_76 on the server. Is it possible to use this files to get the RPD?

p.s. I've just patched the BI server (Bundle Patch 12.2.1.0.170418) but the problem is still there.
