Presentation Variable in Evaluate Function in obiee 12c

Hi All

I am trying to use presentation variable in evaluate function.getting below error.

Cannot function ship the following expression evaluate

If I use date column it is working fine.

Please suggest

Can you also show your exact syntax, I note that you say date column, do you cast your presentation column also to a date column when passing it in to the call to evaluate?
