Stop filter being overwritten on drill action
Hi,
I am drilling into a dashboard page and it is overwriting one of the filters on an analysis that I do not want changing. Is there a way to stop this.
Thank you!!!

There is a protect filter on the filter control which is used to prevent the dynamic filter overwrite that you describe and enforce the originally written filter.

You can Protect the Filter. check the Protect Filter checkbox and this will ensure it doesn't get overridden by a dashboard prompt

Is there any other way to use prompts with filters, but selectively so some are not affected?

Sure, you could also set a presentation variable and put the {PresentationVariableName} in your filter, or sql equivalent. This can also be used with the protect functionality.
