OBIEE 12c on Oracle Linux Best Practices?
Hi everyone,
I am working with an existing OBIEE 12c (v12.2.1.1) customer on Windows and they want to upgrade to v12.2.1.3 or the upcoming v12.2.1.4 and migrate off of Windows to Oracle Linux. The customer wanted to know if there is a guidance/best practices document to help them configure the new Linux environment. I’ve been searching and I couldn’t find such a document, but wanted to reach out to a greater audience just in case I didn’t look in the right place.
Thanks in advance for your help!
Regards,
Lyman

Hi,
You look for hardware configuration or software configuration?
For the software side when you run the installer it does its own checks and tell you what it doesn't like.
Often to keep the install simple you install the "oracle-rdbms-server-12cR1-preinstall" package via yum (assuming you are on a OL or similar system) and that package will already make sure to install all the dependencies and set few things. Otherwise if you check in the doc somewhere there is a list of all the required packages etc.
