Hi,

We have OBIA 11g clustered application with RAC database , now we have requirement to implement Disaster recovery site for OBIA application and database level , we know database DR setup but we didn't find any documentation for OBIA DR implementation  , please let me know if any one implemented DR setup at OBIA applicaiton level , share the reference documents or links.

Our environment:

1. OBIA Clustered Multi node with 4  node RAC database.

Expect DR site for application and Database.

Thanks in Advance.

Regards,

Uday

    Hi,

assuming your DR does not want to include the data warehouse layer then this is no different to standard OBIEE =>

    Hi Uday.D -

You could also start by checking these three notes:

    OBIEE 11g Test-to-Production (T2P) / Clone Procedures Guide (Doc ID 1625533.1)

OBIA 11g How to Migrate Configurations and Customizations from Development to a Test or a Production Environment (Doc ID 1984269.1)

How To Move ODI From Test Environment To Production Environment Using Cloning (T2P) (Doc ID 2011064.1)

I believe Oracle's official position on OBIA, not OBIEE, is to do a fresh install of it on the DR server(s) and move your customizations, catalog objects, etc. post-install. I have asked this in an SR, but you should also confirm yourself.

That said, it is possible, although not recommended (possibly not even supported) to use the T2P scripts. I have done this for the OBIA application tier, but it was a lengthy, manual, error-prone process. Looking back, it may have been easier to just do it as a fresh install, then move all the other stuff back into it.

Just my perspective. Also, maybe move this over to the OBIA board, since the process is different than "OBIEE".
