OBIEE 11g and Java Licensing
Hi Team,
Good Day!
We have been using OBIEE 11.1.1.7.0 which uses java version1.6.0.
Recently came across many blogs regarding the Oracle Java Licensing from 2019.
Would like to co relate this with OBIEE 11g, have gone through the oracle docs and came to conclusion that java comes along with the OBIEE pack and it does not require separate license.
But like to double confirm do we need to buy any separate license ? and also what is the case when we upgrade java alone from 6 to 7 in current OBIEE 11g version ?
Would like to know more about OBIEE and java licensing , share the thoughts.
Thanks in advance!

In all things licensing talk to your Oracle Account Manager.
But - I have never been aware of anyone being asked to pay separate license fees for the use of java with OBIEE, I am not a java specialist but I was under the impression that it was only J2EE territory where licensing considerations apply with java.

+1 to Robert - only Oracle can give you an official and legally binding answer to that. And also +1 on: it's not licensed seperately
