How can I apply sort order (asc/desc) in a prompt in OBIEE 12c
For each logical column in the BMM you have the option to specify a sort order column.
Also, a quick google search will bring quite a few results LMGTFY
Dear USER 3601907,
You can write a "SQL RESULTS" for the column on which you want to apply sort as below:
Thank you Pedro. Sorting achieved by using SQL query with an order by

Pedro's answer was the really correct one by the way since writing code instead of configuring things properly is basically just a hack and a workaround. No offense @SonPat99 but a proper setup safes you endless time and problems over the full lifecycle.
Completely agreed sir...
However, I have seen cases where the developers have restricted access to RPD and is not possible to access it.
These workarounds are for such scenarios only...
Knowing the workarounds can serve quick needs, but should be followed in dire need, else we should always go for the correct process, which is modifying and applying sorting in RPD.
Thanks for highlighting this fact/ best practice...

Yes. And this perfectly describes a setup where the persons responsible - whether client managers or integrators / consultants - have not understood the first thing about anything.
Dumb people, dumb organization, dysfunctional project, bad results. Loss-loss situation.
