I was sure when I was in Oracle that there was mooted to be further integration between Big Data Discovery (Endeca as was) and OBIEE, can any of the great and the good on this space confirm?
You'll need to use the correct datadirect ODBC drivers to connect Apache Hive to OBIEE - https://www.progress.com/odbc/apache-hadoop-hive
OBIEE will connect to anything that provides an ODBC driver.
