Export SQL's query from ODI (with OBIA)
Hi everyone,
I have question about OBIA and their ETL (with SQL query) in ODI.
I worked on OBIA and at now I want to learn ETL in ODI and source system structure.
I know Oracle BI Application in OBIEE layer and rpd. It's better to me learn source system (scheme, table etc.) with ODI (SQL query and ETL with OBIA).
Can I download and instal Oracle BI Application for ODI? I want to import in ODI all ETL with SQl query /datastores etc. for all business area.

Hi,
OBIA is subject to copyright / licensing, but if all you are after is a platform to learn on then you could export the DDL for the tables using a tool like SQL Developer and recreate them on local schemas of your choice.

ODI is not strictly based on SQL ... it's SQL buried in many scenarios based on configurations (especially with OBIA).

If you want to learn the 'backend' then get yourself another 'front end' job on an OBIA implementation and then ask the ETL lead(s) for access to learn. To stand-up your own infrastructure just to kick the tires is going to be a huge effort. You'll have to have the source ERP database as well.
