OBIEE Merge

I am attempting to merge 2 RPD's (we are running 11.1.1.1.9 OBIEE) using a patch file(have also tried merging 2 rpd's). When I do the compare I come up with 228 differences. When I merge using the patch file I only get 2 of the differences merged. There are a large number of Init Blocks that were disabled in the Dev system(has all the changes) that are not disabled in QA(our target we want to apply the patch to). After the merge has completed the same objects are still enabled. Is there a way to get all the differences found in the compare to apply ?

That appears to have fixed the issue I had. All of the enabled init blocks are now disabled.

Aloha All,

That which I thought was fixed has proven to not be. I have followed the steps provided and I am not getting "Define Merge Strategy" window. It is simply merging things. The problem is that this includes changing our connection pool's from QA to DEV. Any chance this is a bug or anything?

When I go to File --> Merge

Full Repository Merge(clicked)

original: original_QA.rpd(not modified)

modified: modified_DEV.rpd(modified)

current:current_QA.rpd(copy of orginal rpd )

saved:merged_QA.rpd

Equalize: not checked

Have you tried experimenting with a known change(s) and varying to see if putting the changed file as 'original', 'modified' or 'current' to see if any variation works for you.

It has been a while but I remember having to do similar and when I found the variation that did what I was looking for thinking it counter intuitive.

From memory I think I also used an empty rpd in the mix.
