Hello,
I'd like to know if there is a way to customize/define a Drill in functionality (Hierarchy) based on a specific column and values, within the OBIEE Cloud solution ?
For example once i click on Itinerary than it will shows me the service provider, source and destination location ...

Thanks and regards.

    Hi,

you can create alternative drill hierarchies under a single dimension.

if your requirement is not based on a single dimension then you can create custom drill actions (essentially open report 'X' with 'Is Prompted' filters catching source values from the analysis drilled from) based on action links in analyses.

It sounds like the latter is more what you want, as it lets you specify exactly which fields are displayed on the 'drill' (really action link based navigation) action.

You can define your own drill path by using Action Links. This document has a section which describes what Action Links are and how they work.

    Hello,
Can you please provide me with more details. T
The action link refers to another analysis that i have to define outside my analysis ?

    Thanks.

    Steps; -

    1. Create report you want to drill to

    2. Put 'Is Prompted Filters' on target report - assuming from same subject area

    3. Put action link on source report to navigate to target report

    Job done.

    Okay i see, thanks.
And i suppose it is also the same for the drill out functionality ?!

    regards.

Yes, basically, just make sure if you have any 'hard coded' filters on your target that you don't want restricting by the more finite data drilled from that you use protection to prevent those filters being "overruled" in the same way as the 'Is Prompted' values.
