Sometimes not able to upload rpd

Question

I'm using the sample app on a vm to learn obiee and I sometimes have trouble uploading the rpd I've been working on in BI administration tool. Usually it works but sometimes it refuses to work and I'm stuck and unable to continue until it mysteriously starts working again. BI is up and running and I'm able to log into analytics through localhost.

This is the error:

uploadRpd Failed: Failure in trying to acquire lock. Check bi-lcm-logs or diagnostics. Error Desc Code: DESC_CODE_SERVER_EXCEPTION

Any information on this would be greatly appreciated!!

Hi,

Here's the definition of that error:

27001

End of input has been reached. Illegal syntax.

Cause.  An empty line or incomplete input was encountered.

Response.  Correct the illegal syntax and try the action again.

Not that informative, unfortunately ...

Have you done a consistency check on the RPD?

Try to go through the logs and look for specific errors and/or file names.

Do you mean the logs in Oracle_Home\domains\bi\servers\obis1

I looked there and at the NSQLAdminToo.txt and there are several errors logged, the final one is :

Hi,

Which version of the sample app? Did you do the install - if so, do you know where the logs are? You may need to check the log(s) to see exactly what kind of exception this is.
