OBIEE 11g: Customize "include column" interaction
Good morning,
Quick question, is it possible to customize the list of possible column proposed in the "include columns" interaction ?
See below example, I want to leave possibility for the user to include column interesting for data description (e.g. Site, Subject, etc.) but I don't to see some others columns which don't have added value (and could leave to wrong interpretation of the data).
In initially though it would be possible through "Interaction" tab in the column properties; but it didn't work...
Any idea?
Many thanks in advance
Kind Regards
Nico

That list is controlled by columns that you’ve included in your criteria tab of your Analysis. If these are columns that you simply don’t require then simply removing them from the criteria tab will remove them from this list.

And what Joel is advising is best practise in all circumstances - you should always remove what you do not need for display or calculation purposes.

Amen to what was said already. Also:
a) If people should be allowed to select and combine literally whatever they want - why aren't they Answers users in the first place?!
b) What about columns selectors?
Self-service analytics is self-service analytics because people can do everything they want. Which is also the biggest issue with self-service analytics since people normally don't think about what they do when they have everythign at their fingertips.
TRAINING and COMPREHENSION are important pillars in analytics.
