OBIEE AD authencation in linux
Hi Guru's
We have OBIEE 12c setup in windows environment. Configured OBIEE 12c for Single Sign-On using Kerberos-based Windows Authentication backed by Active Directory.
For Ex: User logged into windows system and no need to provide user login details into OBIEE analytics page because it was taking login credentials from Windows authentication.
Now we have installed obiee 12 on Linux. Planning configure AD authentication along with kerberos -based windows authentication backed by active directory.
Can some leave your inputs on below queries.
1. Does it possible implement same kind of security setup Linux environment ? I mean (AD authentication along with Windows authentication )..
2. As per i know, Windows authentication will work only on windows environment not in linux or unix environment . Correct me if am wrong.
3. I can configure ad authentication using provides in oBIEE 12c but not sure how to do the windows authentication concept in linux ?

Your post is confusing: you installed ODI 12c on Windows and you say you configures OBIEE 12c. Are you talking about ODI or OBIEE?
Keep in mind OBIEE is a client-server application: the server can be on any environment, linux or windows, and it doesn't change the features available. If your clients are on Windows you can use Windows SSO.
If your clients are on linux you can't expect to have a Windows SSO as there is no Windows involved.

Sorry for the confusion. It is OBIEE 12c Setup.
Let me give some more details on this topic.
We have OBIEE 12c setup in windows server and working fine as excepted. Customer was decide to implement same kind of setup in Linux. We have installed OBIEE 12c in Linux and configured Ad authentication so far, we are in good shape. Now issue was, in windows Obiee user logged into system (Desktop or laptop) then he has selected obiee link in browser (Ie or chromo) then it was landed directly into obiee home page without asking login details because SSO enabled (Kerberos-based Windows Authentication) in Windows environment. Here my confusion was, can we implement same kind of setup in LInux server as well? I mean if user logged into desktop or laptop then he selected obiee link in browser then it won’t ask any login details.
SSO is working based on Kerberos-based Windows Authentication on (Windows server)
Can we do the same kind of setup on linux ?
