You can start by providing actual, pertinent information:

+1! What OBIEE version? What OS? Which log files have you looked at? What were you doing that caused this?

    Hi,

Thanks Christian Berg for your reply.

I have been asked to run OBIEE in test env. which was not working.

    so  i did

    1) i located the rpd through winscp and opened that in in BI Admin tool

    2) i found that the rpd from test env. is not having recent subject areas

    3) so i deployed rpd from dev env. to test env. which i now found that its wrong to do in this manner

    4) I checked connection pools and also located tnsnames.ora files

    5) i then tried pinging db, but still i was unable to connect.

6)now i want to correct my mistake so i tried deploying test env. rpd but i again failed here

    7) got so many errors.

    8) now i am working on logs which i am able to locate

    9) but after locating what should i do with the description and line no.

    10) one of the error is "An error occured during execution of 'send'. Broken pipe[socket:24]" in line no. 733

    message level 31

what should i do? please guide me.

"11g" exists since 2010 so there were about 80 "11g"s so far.

Which PRECISE version on which PRECISE operating system?

Sounds like you've overwritten your rpd. Your best best bet is to restore the file system from a backup (hopefully you have a backup) and then you can start again

    hi,

I have uploaded the original rpd in test env. I still see some errors in my EM, which i am going to neglect as all the services are up and running.

Now how to migrate the dev env rpd to test env rpd, as  current subject areas are missing in test env rpd. Can you guide me in doing this!!

    Thanks & Regards
