Hiding BI publisher Data Model from Business Users

Hi,
When we develop a bi publisher report in OBIEE 11g, we will have two objects viz a viz Data Model (xdm)and Report (xdo). When we grant the access of a folder containing these reports to business, can we restrict their view to show only xdo.
I have tried to look for a solution online but went in vain.
Please guide on how to do this.
Thanks

The best practice would be to keep the Data Model in the IT folder and allow the business to have only "Read, Traverse" permission and copy the BIP report in to the specific departmental folder which they will have access to.

Yes thanks. But when we migrated from 10g, we got both data model and report into the same folder. we have around 400 reports and 25-30 departments to re-work on. I thought we had some other option. like, showing only 'Report' by default. Right now, I am advising the business users to to do so, by setting once, just above the folder browser.

You have to play with the permission to hide the data model for the business users. However considering the number of reports it might be cumbersome, I am not sure whether you have data model for each report. If you just want to show the report to the user because the user are trying to click the DM by mistake, you can just ask the users to change the Type in "Report" which will filter reports only in the view. But this is just for view only purpose to make the user life easy.

Yes. This is what i have instructed the users to do . But every time doing it , they find it cumbersome as the aren't tech people. They want the access to be simple.
Is there any way to set the view to Report by default.

Users don't need to perform the action every time when they login. Once they change the Type say to "Report" everytime when they access the Catalog folders they will have the Type filter set. Its persistent. BTW, I am not sure about the OBIEE 11g, we have the OBIEE 12c the latest patch and type filter is one time setting per user.
Hope it helps.
