Custom link in the global header pointing to OBIEE dashboard

Question

I am trying to create a link in the global header that points to a specific OBIEE dashboard. The client has a homepage (dashboard). For ease of navigation the client wants users to be able to click on a link in the global header which takes them back to this homepage. I had suggested action links but their preference is a link in the global header which navigates back to this homepage. The blogs I am seeing have custom links to URLs like Google, Yahoo, etc. Any thoughts anyone?

To get your dashboard URL, you can go to the catalog and navigate to your dashboard and the URL displayed in your browser can be copied and used above. You can also use the relative path which would make the URL generic and you won’t need to change anything when you migrate to other environments (assuming your catalog structure is the same across your environments).
