Write Back in OBIEE 12c

Trying to set up write back ability in 12c and I get to the point where I can enter the value but when I try to apply it I am getting this error: An error occurred while writing to the server. Please check to make sure you have entered appropriate values. If the problem persists, contact your system administrator.

1.) Which exact "12c" - there were more than 20 so far.
2.) Which exact OS?
3.) Is that a migrated system? 12 doens't know "GUIDs" anymore - that was an 11g concept
0 -
1. 12.2.1.4
2. Windows Server 2012 R2
3. No it is not a migrated system. Fresh install.
0 -
If that's afresh install then several follow-up questions since the GUID part is questionable.
1.) How exactly did you configure writeback?
2.) SADMIN?! What kind of user is that supposed to be? OBIEE isn't Siebel CRM.

I am not sure where the SADMIN is coming from. We have not used that in years.
I followed the steps here: https://docs.oracle.com/middleware/12211/biee/BIESG/GUID-6F16F7CA-E525-4569-A5A0-C1C0F851F57E.htm#BIESG9156
Here is what I did:
Repository setup
Physical: Database properties
Connection Pool
Physical Table: Cacheable unchecked
Here is the table
BMM Logical Column
Presentation: Subject Area
Column
Identity
Created xml template
<?xml version="1.0" encoding="utf-8" ?>
<WebMessageTables xmlns:sawm="com.siebel.analytics.web/message/v1">
<WebMessageTable lang="en-us" system="WriteBack" table="Messages">
<WebMessage name="AccountRestatment">

<update>UPDATE WC_RESTATEMENT SET REC_STATUS = @{cdce4f3e1d70d2652} WHERE ROW_WID = @{c3ae98707c3c62d3b}</update>
</writeBack>
</XML>
</WebMessage>
</WebMessageTable>
</WebMessageTables>
Added this to instanceconfig.xml file
<LightWriteback>true</LightWriteback>
Report Setup
Changed Privileges
Now I am getting this:

So what about that user profile you're using? Is he really a BIAdministrator? Does he possess "authenticateduser"?

Thanks for looking at this. I finally found the issue and it was so simple and stupid. The user ID I was using to access the Database did not have write access. Once I changed to a different ID with write access everything worked.

Good catch. it's always the things one assumes are correct to begin with and hence don't ask about.

Trying for writeback functionality in one of my reports but i encountered this error. I am able to execute update command in database using the same credentials which i have in connection pool. so , i think my issue is not related to write acess. can anyone please let me know what the issue would be?

This thread is 3 years old and it's not your question. If you have an issue please open a new thread and clearly state your issue with full (exact) version, browser and all details pertaining to the issue.
