Allow to save changes made in Access for Connection object in DV wo enetering password

Description

If we want to save changes made in "Access" tab for Connection object (Inspect action), for example adding role BI Consumer for read-only accces, then after making changes in Access tab, Save button is still greyed out, so it is not possible to save changes made in Access.
The only way, how to make changes in Access for Connection object effective (activate Save buttton) is to re-enter password in General properties of Connection object . We have learned (by rasing SR in Oracle support), that this is intended behaviour (as per unplished Bug 29632490).

We dont think, that this is logical and straightforward behaviour and thus it would be very desirable to allow changes in Access (permission) for Connection object in DV without beeinf forced to re-enter password for Connection.

Use Case and Business Need

Make the process of Access changes of Connection object in DV more straigthforward.

The security can be based on the USER who changes the property.

IF the user has full control on the connection already granted when they start inspecting it, THEN they can modify access without re-entering the Connection password.

Hi Marco,

not sure, whether I understand your reply correctly - but true is (speaking about Oracle Analytics Server - thus on-premise sw, I dont know, whether in OAC the behaviour is different, but I suspect that not), that enforcement of re-entering password to be able to save changes in permissions (Access tab) for Connection object is happening even for "owner" of the Connection object (also a member of the most strongest application role - BI Administrator).
