We also have this need to have a template or custom landing page based on role.

I suggested this at the 2022 Analytics Summit. The home page now has gotten quite messy with all the Data Sets, Data Flows, Reports, Workbooks, Favorites, etc., so users are confused on where to find their reports.
We would like a way to customize the home page so we can have a simple menu for users to follow, while also being able to add a text section for announcements, releases, downtimes, etc.

A few comments.
- For a curated home page, I would suggest creating a low-code webpage as a custom landing page/home page. This is not very different from the practice that would be required in classic
- We do plan to offer closed Workbook navigation in which you will be able to design your first canvas as a "home page" and use the workbook as an analytics app without the ability for the user to get to the home page. We do not have a specific ETA as there are several pre-requisite projects that need to be completed. This functionality will also need to support to defining the user landing page.
- With respect to Robert's comment, OAC Consumers do not see Datasets and Dataflows, if they are truly just content consumers their permissions should be set as such and the more technical swimlanes will no longer show up for them (as well as the Create button and other options which are considered to be for content authors only).
Option 1 and 2 both provide an ability to create a custom home page (1 is possible now, 2 is the future), however, neither are Home Page customizations (as in changing the system home page) - which we are not planning to do, therefore I'm going to decline the idea as described.
