Description

By Default, the AUTO option is selected for a prompt in a project. It's making the prompt to be automatically linked and updated with other prompts. It's creating loading and performance issue.

Use Case and Business Need

Do not put AUTO in the prompt by default or let the user select if needed to avoid performance issues.

I agree that this would be a very helpful option for those of us working with large fact tables which drive the query that is generated. We need the ability to toggle this feature at either a project or system level. On the classic side, the default behavior when creating analysis is that cascading is not enabled.

    Another point for this request:

    • for "Oracle EPM" connections, the filter on any dimension doesn't show any value if it is set to AUTO, you have to manually set it to NONE to make it present the list of values. And you have to repeat this setting for each filter (which tend to be many when connecting to a typical EPM application cube, since every dimension must appear on the visualization or the filter).
  • We are working on an option to be able to change the default for the entire bar instead of one by one.

    Hi Gabby,

Do you know if this option will be released this year - 2021?

We have been getting several requests from users to not have these top filters set to limited by AUTO as a default.

This idea was submitted back in 2019. Any updates as to when we can see this default setting changed or have the ability to not set the default to AUTO?
