Filter the Parent Child hierarchy in RPD level by using application roles
Organization Name
Price Water House Cooper
Description
Hi Team,
This is the related to -SR 3-24899595431 as oracle requested for enhancement
When I am applying the filter on the member key in hierarchy, showing the hierarchy from the top to specific department.
But we need to show only child departments of the specific parent department, but not it’s parent departments.
If I am applying the same filter in Ancestor key
Examples :
Based on the application roles only we have to provide the department hierarchy access to the users.
Below are the cases for the Roles:
case1: if top most department is assigned to the user, then he can access the whole department hierarchy (which is working as expected).
case2 : if the user is assigned to the 2nd level department ( which is child department of the top most department), he should not have the access to the top most department in hierarchy.
Based on the Application Roles the Above 2 cases should work while the user logging into the application.
for that, we need to restrict access to the hierarchy in RPD Level.
(How to filter the hierarchy in RPD level by using application roles).
Thanks,

Use Case and Business Need
Currently we are unable to filter on parent child hierarchies at the report level.when a person belongs to child department, it should filter on child department data only that is selected.

it would be good to have this feature

This is a great idea lab that would help OACS teams build capabilities required to our clients and for consistency with FA reporting tools
