Description

Hi,

Now you can use a user license, but you have to buy 10 user licenses. That is to much for testing new features for example with your own tennant. I only need 1 licence. So like PowerBI Pro for example is it possible for 10 euro each month for example to have a 1 user license?

Thanks!

Regards, Hilbert

Use Case and Business Need

For testing new features or demo environment would a one user license a good option. I never need 10 users in this case. So instead of needing to buy 10 user licences, i want to have the option to buy only one license.

  • It is not currently possible, but something that we will consider in the future. It depends on the cost of running the instance and if we are willing to trim down capabilities for our users in order to lower the cost for a single user scenario. I understand the need, you can consider the completely free for all OA Desktop as a way to test new features (not for production use!).

Thanks for your response! Yes, but with OA desktop you can't share a report /dashboard with other users. I am looking more at a OAC alternative for PowerBI Pro.This will adapt more users I think because it is a ''cheap' way to get to learn OAC and extend later for more performance to a OCPU license for example. I also understand that a lot of users have Office 365 and within that price you pay a little for PowerBI also I guess, that makes it harder to manage the costs.

  • OA Desktop is free for all (single user and not for production) does allow you to import your work to OAC if you want to grow, but unless you export/import between OA Desktops, the next level up is OAC professional edition at a list price of $16 per user (minimum of 10, current price based on https://www.oracle.com/cloud/price-list.html#analytics).

While we will consider in the future allowing a personal free user of OAC (instead of Desktop), there is a difference between free user to free multi-user instance. One does not necessarily means the other.
