Yes this can be done as mani mentioned, you can use Excel template,,, or RTF template also can be used,. ..if you have installed BI Publisher desktop there are few samples for both RTF and Excel templates . review them to get a good idea.

BI Publisher is all for user templates (especially Excel templates). yes, it can be done. we just have to be good at managing the xdo syntax's & values.
