BI Publisher generates UTF-8 without BOM

Hi experts,

I have BI Publisher in versions 10.1.3.4.1 and 10.1.3.4.2 that generate CSV files in "UTF-8 without BOM (Byte Order Mark)" encoding.

I recently installed a 10.1.3.4.2 patch on one of the servers, and now it generates CSV files with "UTF-8 with BOM" encoding.

I would like to know if there is a means of parametrizing BI Publisher to obtain "UTF-8 with BOM" format without having to upgrade it to any version or to patch it.

Any ideas ?

A quick look at this tells me that this got fixed in July 2013 via bug 16761278 - BURSTING PROCESS DOESN'T GENERATE FILES WITH UTF-8 WITH BOM. This implies that yes, the required code change is only going to be included in the latest 10.1.3.4.2 patch as per Overview of Available Update Patches for Oracle BI Publisher Enterprise 10g (Doc ID 797057.1).
