Search Parameter Type In Bi Publisher

Hello,

I am using BI Publisher 11g Version. I have a requirement to create a parameter of "Search" Type In the BI Publisher.  I see the documentation that it is possible, but when I try to create, I could not find that option.

Please suggest.

Hi,

On your "Data Model" under "Parameters > Parameters Type" have you tried selecting "Menu" type? Once you select the "Menu" type, on your report you should be able to select the drop down menu and click "Search"

A search window will then pop-up.

If that's not you were looking for, please share the documentation source you have mentioned.

Agree with Youssef here. I cannot see a parameter type of 'Search' in BI publisher 11.1.1.9.0 What is your BI publisher version? It might be a bug in the Oracle documentation (the one you mentioned) or a feature that only existed in a particular bi publisher version. The search is automatically enabled when the "number of values to display in list" set is exceeded.

Hi Youssef,

Thank you for the response.  I tried Menu and I can see the search in the drop down.  But that is not my requirement.

I should be able to type in something in the text box and click the search button on the BI Publisher report.  As per the documentation link, there is a search parameter type, but I could not find that.
