General Error when using Analysis as a data source in Data Visualization

Hello,

I am a newbie to data visualizer and only a developer so I don't work to much on the backend. I am trying to help resolve an issue I am having with my Contract support. I am work with Data Visualizer and I can create a connection and access my analysis however, when I go in and select the analysis and add to project I get a "General Error Occurred. Please contact System Administrator". It seems that the connection is fine as I can view the data but when I add the data source to the project I get an error. Can anyone tell me what I am doing wrong or what I should have the Contractors look into? We are running Oracle Business Intelligence 12.2.1.2.0. Currently, we are not running an SSL but will have to once we get it into Production however, the program does sit behind a firewall and so I am thinking maybe an issue with the security. Not sure but any input will help. Thank you.

Adding to Mark's point....here is how you collect the configuration and logs for review for DV on the server (i.e. - not Data Visualization Desktop)

Hi,

Getting your contractors to look at the DV log files would be the way to go I think - to see what the actual error is rather than assuming anything.
