OBIEE 11g, Database upgrade from 11 to 12. Will it work ?

Hi,
we are running OBIEE version 11.1.1.7.150120, Weblogic Server version 10.3.6.0 and our current Oracle Database is version 11.2.0.3.0.
We are planning to upgrade database version to 12.1.0.2.0.
Will our current OBIEE installation work after the database upgrade ?
Are there any important steps to follow ?
Can we simply import the repository created by the RCU utility ?
Is there any nice documents describing this in a step-by-step fashion ?

Hello,
Yes OBIEE 11.1.1.7.x is certified with Oracle Database Version 12.1.0.2.0.

Hi,
You didn't specifically mention the "RCU" database or your datasource database, but in either case, the same JDBC drivers and OCI/SQL*net drivers will connect just fine to 11g and 12c database.
Therefore, it it is only an upgrade, you should not notice any difference.
Other comments welcome.

I am a bit confused about one thing in the 11.1.1.7 version of OBIEE Admin Tool.
If it is certified to run on a 12c database, why dont I find a 12c choice in the list boxes ?
When I want to import a new table into the repository, I chose Import Metadata.
In the Connection Type list there is a choise called OCI 10g/11g, but no choice for 12c.
Same in the Connection Pool setup.
Is it OK to select OCI 10g/11g also for a 12c database ?
