Merge data from different subject areas in OBIEE
Description
Request to enable merge data from different subject areas in OBIEE
Use Case and Business Need
Currently we don't have an option to merge dimensions from different subject areas in OBIEE. Only option provided is to write a custom SQL. However this feature was available in Business Objects. This feature was really helpful so that we can able merge between a common dimension from 2 different queries/subject areas.

You should be able to build reports using multiple subject areas, that would enable you to use dimensions from multiple subject areas

Kumar, We are trying to merge between 2 different subject areas which doesn't have same number of columns. Only common between 2 subject areas is a one common field/key. Attached is a screenshot in Business Objects that we are trying to accomplish in OBI without writing custom SQL.

Hi Shashi
Please take a look at the following document, maybe this will resolve your requirement.
https://docs.oracle.com/cloud/farel9/common/OCHRA/F1415829AN11D19.htm
You can search for Cross-Subject Area Analyses.

Thanks Vaughn for the link, based on example looks like we need to have custom SQL code to join. Was checking if we can have something in analysis tab, where we can specify the join.
Noticed that we have someone else as well submit a similar feature in idea lab: https://appsconnect.custhelp.com/posts/ef319a9980
Thanks,
Shashi

Shashi,
I assume, you want to join multiple subject areas with a custom defined join between them
if yes, then i agree, this will be a good enhancement
Thanks
