Feature to allow the "Hide" column option is based in a presentation variable. This presentation variable may be setted up from the dashboard.

Use Case and Business Need

Allowing to dynamically set the columns shown or hidden in a view gives the OBIEE administrator the chance to reuse the same view for different dashboard pages, premiting to unify the views and reduce the maintenance costs and times of the analysis.

Currently to show the same view with additional columns for a different dashboard pages (or case uses), a new view have to be created. This means that when an improvement of the dashboard have to be done, every single view in the analysis have to be changed, what in case of analysis with several views may be a headache for the OBIEE administrators increasing the developing times.

Allowing this functionality a lot of views may be unified, so making changes to a view will take effect inmediately in all the dashboards where its used.
