Organization Name (Required - If you are an Oracle Partner, please provide the organization you are logging the idea on behalf of): Southern Company

Description (Required):

We have an OTBI prompt for Department Hierarchy, where the user selects a department from the department tree to view employees that roll up to the selected department. The prompt is drillable, where the user can drill through the levels of the department hierarchy inside the prompt to locate the department they want to see the roll-up for.

Currently, the Department Hierarchy prompt displays all active department trees. However, we need to be able to control which department trees appear in the prompt for users. We need to suppress certain department trees from appearing in the OTBI prompt. We only want one of our active department trees to appear when the user opens this OTBI prompt.

Use Case and Business Need (Required):

For example, our cloud environment has two active department trees. Both of these trees appear currently when the user opens the Department Hierarchy prompt in an OTBI report/dashboard. However, we only want of these trees to appear when the user opens this OTBI prompt. We do not want users to see the other department tree when using the prompt.

The business need is that many department trees will be created for a variety of purposes (such as, different trees to control timekeeper security access), but only one department tree contains the full department hierarchy of the whole company, which should be used for reporting purposes. Users will go into reports and want to see employees that roll up to a certain department, based on the full department tree (not the other small department trees). We do not want users to select the wrong trees since they are not meant to be used in reporting and if the user selected them, they would show completely incorrect results.

We got this type of prompt from here: https://community.oracle.com/customerconnect/discussion/560472
