I don't see any option where we can enable 'Developer' on the Oracle Analytics Desktop version. Because Oracle Analytics Desktop we do not have any user profile as such.

Correct, that option is only available on OAC and OAS.

Oracle Analytics Desktop is for personal usage . you can share your DV projects with to others as PPT , PDF etc or even .dva format . this DVA format can be imported to OAC , OAS or another Desktop and accessed

Yes, i am aware of the exporting, sharing via dva. What i am trying to accomplish is copy/mirror some workbooks (non-subject area related), dataset editors steps over to the desktop version.

Just want to be sure that i am not missing anything. Thanks.

No , Desktop is targeted for single user per installation imho . Possible in OAS , OAC.

On another thought :

let me know if your requirement is to share the dataset to others Or do you want to edit the dataset yourself ?

I want to edit the datasets myself & this is not for sharing; trying to port over from the OAC to the desktop version. The crux is the OAC version of workbooks are part-subject area related which i want to edit through the json/xml code.

NO Subject Area you cannot edit through Oracle Analytics Desktop. But , File sources you can
