Description

If user creates a table in DV that extends beyond the bottom of the screen (i.e.: a table with vertical scrolling); printing the viz should print the whole table, not just the portion of the table displayed on the first page

Use Case and Business Need

User is attempting to make a table with monotonically increasing row counts that extend off the bottom of the page.  The want to save the table to PDF for point in time record.

    Actually I was just about to create idea with the same topic, so I am joining this idea instead. Exported visualization of table/pivot table in any format (PDF/PPT) should contain complete data , not just the visible "portion" of it. Basically to have for DV export of tables/pivot tables the same behaviour as it is for export of analysis in Answers (thus "traditional" OBIEE tool). Thanks in advance for implementing this.

    I have had several requests for this function. There is a manual workaround -copy the data, paste in Excel then print - but it would be nice if we are able to print the entire Table visual straight from OA DV.

    Joining this idea too. This is critical for the usability of DV. Our users are looking to go back to Analytics and stop using DV if they cannot print the full information. This creates double work for us as we need to replicate the projects in DV in Analytics just to offer this capability. This is not only applicable to tables but also pivots and any other visualization that shows data that requires scrolling.

    Is this on the roadmap?

    Thanks,

    We have the same requirement which is critical working on OAS on HSGBU Safety Cloud. Currently we have to go back to Analysis via a Data Action from the Workbook to provide full PDF printing or export to XLS. It also requires us to select manually all records from the listing on the canvas using the Shift key and scrolling : we would like a Select All feature to avoid this manual select. We would like in a future release to be able to print all lines on the canvas directly from workbook to PDF that would really be great. Export to CSV works fine from the workbook but if export to XLS would be possible preserving the formatting that would be great too.

    This should be standard functionality not something that we Oracle need to re-develop.

    yeah, we need this functionality. Otherwise whole report is not getting exported

  • There are some options that may work for some of you.

    1 - Export the data using the CSV or the new Formatted Excel Export option (currently in feature preview and enabled in system setting).

    2 - If the table is the only visual on the canvas or is at the bottom and takes the entire width of the canvas, it can be resized to accommodate all rows with no scrolling. In this case print will print the entire table.

    Hope that helps.

    @Matt Milella-Oracle Thanks, Matt.

    First option is fine, but not applicable for us (OAS customers) until new yearly release of OAS for 2023 (I assume in March 2023).

    Second option is really not very smart "workaround" for something, which should be natively working - thus when exporting canvas/vis into other formats (mainly PDF), it should contain all data (mainly pays for tables/pivot tables) - so the same behavior of export in "classical" Answer tool.

    I have had several requests for this functionality as well and for it to work the same as in Answers
