Is this Feature implemented in OAC? Can we schedule the reports to email?

Yes - This is available as a preview feature. Your administrator needs to enable the feature in the console of OAC. Users can schedule and send workbooks by email as a PDF or Image.

Thanks Benjamin. I'm able to try the feature.

I understand this is preview feature, but can you confirm with the limitation. When we schedule/export to email it is showing the job ran succesfully, but i cannot find them in my email Inbox?

    Hi @Benjamin Arnulf-Oracle

This feature is great news !

I understand that it is now only on OAC (correct ?) when can we expect this on OAS ?

    Thanks again

    Yoss.

  • Hi Yoss,

This specific feature is not going to be included OAS 2024. The implementation of this feature is distinct between cloud and on-prem, and the current OAC implementation is not transferable to OAS within the timeframe.

In general, OAS includes as much content as we can. Still, some features are built using facilities unavailable on-prem and must be explicitly redeveloped for OAS. Note that the difference in deployments goes both ways, some features that are available in OAS are not available in OAC or required us to develop different ways to achieve it. In general, >98% of the features are available in both.

@Gabby Rubin-Oracle Hi Gabby, honestly message from you, informing, that DV scheduling will not be available in on-premise Oracle Analytics Server is another bad surprise from Analytics Product Mgmt. Sorry to say that, but after learning, that REST API for DV is not planned for OAS (it is available, still in very limited functionality, just in OAC), this is another "out of blue" message. Is this intention not to implement those (for us, customers) critical functionalities in on-prem OAS with the goal to "move" them to cloud OAC ? If this is the case, than more probable scenario is, that you will loose those customers (at least some of them) at all, since they will (after receiving another such surprise) switch to other Analytics sw alternatives (on-prem implementation of course).

What is worst than this feature, amongst the others are "advertised" in advance in product roadmap , but without any "early warning" : "Hey guys, this feature will be implemented just in OAC, it is not planned for OAS" and poor customer takes this into account in his plans (saying OK, we will have this feature in next yearly release of OAS), but suddenly gets cold shower.... Not very nice. Again, this is my sincere statement as customer and I expect the same sincerity from Analytics Product Mgmt when releasing product roadmap - to be able to react and arrange accordingly.

    Thanks and kind regards

    Michal
