Adding Column to the Physical Layer
Hello All,
> OBIEE 12c Version 12.2.5.9.0.
-I have to add Dimension column in the report for that there is no Table in to the Physical Layer.
Main issue is that,
-ABC is the table which belongs to XYZ schema in the Physical Layer model.
And Report is built on PQR Schema.
Q1---Is it possible to create join between two different Schema ? (Is it good practice?)
Q2---Other way I found is that, I pulled the ABC table in to the XYZ schema and copied same ABC in to the PQR also created alias in the PQR schema. Also added joins (Physical Join as well as BMM Join). Does it work as expected.
Thank you in advance.

Are you on OAS 5.9 ? I dont think there is any OBIEE 12c 12.2.5.9.0 version.
You create a join in BMM layer and then port that to presentation layer and then make report using these columns.

Yes, I guess it is OAS 5.9.
But, can you please help me about 2 questions? Is it correct approach to pull the column?

Please review Design Tips for Physical layer and BMM layer in product documentation.

In addition to the documentation, see some of Oracle's best practice blogs on the topic which include some modeling best practices:
