Global Date format in OBIEE 12.2.1.4
Hello, we try to change the date format to "DD-MMM-YYYY" globally, we changed the xl file localedefinitions.xml (2067123.1), the same changes work for other people envs. but not in our env. We change it following https://www.clearpeaks.com/setting-custom-data-format-in-obiee-answers/ and it works, but we donot know what xml file it save to so that we can migrate the changes to the higher env. Please let me know if you know the name of the files that the changes saved to, thanks

Hi @User_27DEY
i have reviewed the page you have shared its at report level Only. You can copy this report from one env to another to reflect the same.
Quick check - copy the xml file from report advanced tab and copy the same in another env to create an adhoc report to verify.
Regards,
Arjun

Thanks, "copy the xml file from report advanced tab " where is this tab? we need the date format changed globally wherever there is "date" there, not just the reports. also, we do not have access to prod for the GUI changes, so have to find the xml file to migrate to PROD. thanks

Hi @User_27DEY ,
The localedefinitions.xml file is located under the <OBIEE_HOME>/bi/bifoundation/web/display folder. OBIEE_HOME is the path were you installed your OBIEE binaries.

Thanks, localedefinitions.xml does not seem the correct file since we make changes to this file and it does not work, also we made changes from the front end, but this file did not get updated. so the changes made are not written to this file. thanks

Hi @User_27DEY ,
What changes did you apply to the localedefinitions.xml file? Are you getting a specific error message? Did you restart the full OBIEE stack after updating the file?
The changes that you made from the Analysis Editor are not stored in a configuration file, but they are included in the analysis itself.
