OBIEE 11g Installation error at configuration step

Hi,

Could you please help me in fixing the below  error I received during configuration of OBIEE 11g.

Error creating ASInstance instance1.

Cause:

An internal operation has failed: The oracle instance is not empty.  Select a different location or remove the instance at this location

It looks like you've tried to install OBIEE before, but the configuration was interrupted. And now you are trying to configure OBIEE with the same path.

If it was the first installation and you have nothing to loose, simply delete instances/instance1 directory and try configuration again.

If it is not the first instance and you can't delete anything, then select another name for instance. instance2, for example.

It is possible that you will have to delete bifoundation_domains directory also (or specify another domain name).

It depends on which installer option you are using. If you are using the simple one click installer, then you don't get a choice. If you are using the advanced installation option, you will need to install weblogic separately and then create the weblogic domain at which stage you can specify the weblogic domain name.
