Cache Issue while switching between EBS responsibilities to access OAS.

Hi,

We have done EBS integration with OAS.

One user is having multiple responsibilities assigned to access OAS.

When user is accessing OAS with first responsibility from EBS responsibility page , it's working fine, and he is able to access correct dashboards.

But when he logged out from OAS and try to select other responsibility from EBS responsibility page, it is showing the same dashboards as earlier responsibility as it is maintaining the cache.

User have to do the complete log out from EBS to use the second responsibility.

Could you please provide any suggestion to resolve the caching issue so that user can switch between multiple responsibilities to access OAS without logging out from complete EBS.

Thanks,

Lalit

    @User_F707D,

    In EBS OAS integration, session cookie picked from EBS login is the one which is referenced and until it's valid it will be showing the same dashboards as earlier responsibility. Once, you logout from EBS a new session cookie is generated and a new fresh session will be created based on it. That seems to be the reason of this behavior.

    Here is an old KM doc from 11g days- 1569615.1 Presentation Catalog Permission Behavior When Same EBS User Logs Into OBIEE Using Different Responsibilities Back And Forth , where suggestion was to disable ACL cache settings in instanceconfig.xml file, not sure if this is still relevant for OAS. Also for OAS I believe the recommendation is to move away from cookie based auth and use a SSO solution instead.

    The issue is now resolved. The enable connection pooling was checked in the RPD , which was causing issue.

    Once disabled the issue is resolved.

    Hi @User_F707D ,

    I am glad the issue is resolved.

    However, keep in mind the ICX cookie has been deprecated and is planned for desupport in Oracle Analytics Server 2024 update. Please, check for details:

    Using an enterprise SSO solution is recommended. My advice is that you start planning for that.
