only for some of the user's dashboard prompt is not appearing in the OAS dashboard

Question

Hello,

we have dashboard with prompt and report. when some sets of users are logged in into OAS and try to run the dashboard, they are not able to see the prompt value only but able to see the report.

this is not for all the users only for few of them having issue.

I have added full control to that effected user in the share folders -- report folder -- dashboard -- Dashboard subpage -- page and prompts. but still not working.

when I added the user to that particular/Required application role it is working fine but not working as a direct member to those folders.

Same permissions working in OBIEE12c for those users but not in OAS. We have recently migrated from obiee to oas.

It's clearly an authorization issue. Please try the below approach and try to identify which application role is restricting the user from seeing this prompt:

For example: Try and remove application roles of the user one by one and see after removal of which role user gets access to the prompt. Once the role is identified then you can further check it's members and see if Restricted permissions are set and try to identify the cause.

Hi @Gopi Krishna P ,

From the Classic Home, open the Administration page, then click on Manage Privileges and make sure that View Dashboard Prompt privilege has been granted to the required application roles.

You should also make sure that users are using a browser which is certified with OAS.

Same permissions working in OBIEE12c for those users but not in OAS. We have recently migrated from obiee to oas.

Please note that OAS uses different default application role names compared to OBIEE (e.g. BIContentAuthor instead of BIAuthor). There is a chance that your users have been assigned to application roles with the old naming convention and privileges as well.
