Option to open Dataset directly to the query or data Preparation Page Not a Workbook
When clicking on a Dataset, a user expects to open to where the Definition & columns are modified not a workbook. It seems to be UI issue as you expect to edit the Dataset not create a workbook. At least an option to go directly to opening the Definition or column Preparation transformation page instead of opening a blank workbook > Data > Edit (3 clicks just to modify the Dataset).

Thanks for submitting your idea. It is not clear from the submission that you are aware of the right click and Open on the Dataset option? This will indeed open the dataset in the Dataset Editor and not the Workbook.

We have option to open but default option drive UX.
I would suggest , create workbook should be in right click and open dataset default click option.
