Hi ,

This is happening or observed after the recent July 2024 update, all the DV views referred or used in classic dashboard is throwing error like "Failed to load workbook from specified path" when using "Explore as Workbook" option.

Though I see a Oracle SR raised for similar error for Retail Science Platform, does anyone facing same error?

Can we have a clear documentation with steps ,as suggested one seems not working or not clear enough to follow. Attached the error I see from our classic DB after clicking on 'Explore As Workbook' option.

clicking on 'Explore As Workbook' option.

  • Hi @Senthilkumar Subramanian

    Thanks for sharing your workaround.
I think this may possibly be related to an internal bug (35908231) which is resolved in a future update release.
If you need to pursue it further, then I suggest you open a Service Request.

I just tested it, and it worked OK for me with July patching applied.

    6823918;OAS STACK PATCH BUNDLE 7.6.0.0.240710 (Patch 36823847)
    36814917;OAS BUNDLE PATCH 7.6.0.0.240708

To expand upon the note Doc ID 2928462.1, you would need to have the correct application role to run a DV workbook. It sounds from your post, that it worked for you prior to patching?

    Hi @SteveF-Oracle ,

Patch you mentioned is for OAS ,is it applicable for OAC as well. Though the July 2024 patch already in place, and I can replicate same issue in all OAC environments (DEV/ TEST / UAT/ PROD).

As per the solution Doc ID 2928462.1, can you please tell me does that <Tenant_ID>-BIContentAuthor role will suffice to be mapped to application role/user groups mapped to the catalog object?

Can you give me some example with description here which is something working for you.

Hi @SteveF-Oracle - Not sure, just tried by renaming the existing DV object and repoint them in classic dashboard and after checking 'Explore As Workbook' and it worked.

Apologies, when you said July 2024 update, my mind automatically went to the recently published OAS CPU/Bundle patches.

I should have asked which Analytics product you were using. In future, always include since we have multiple.

For OAC, when you login with your user account to /ui/dv, can you create a DV workbook?

@SteveF-Oracle - To answer your question, YES , I can create DV views and able to login successfully into ui/dv. Being an administrator have access to create/edit/modify/delete etc., hence I expect this would work .

For now, what I noticed is that by renaming the workbook and repoint the objects in the edit dashboard of classic section makes them work when we click on 'Explore As Workbook'.
