OAS Dataset Upload Fails With "Cannot read properties of undefined (reading 'inputColumns')"

Hello Gurus,

I have a problem while creating a data set from an excel file. When I try to upload excel file; it gives an error below. Do you have any idea about this issue?

"Cannot read properties of undefined (reading 'inputColumns')"

Our version is: Version 6.4

I will do the manual workaround to add one column at a time and check which column causing the problem and check the DataType or name does has special characters in Excel to identify which column causing the problem

as long as you upload excel file with less than 250 columns and less than 250 MB in size

@dilek - Please let us know if you see the issue with any excel file or only with a specific excel file. You can try creating a excel file with only one or two columns and then try and test it to confirm the behavior.

Hi, the problem not occurs for every excel file. When I add more rows to this excel file, the problem pops up. I thought that there is a limit barrier to upload but I am not sure about that.

Have you tried saving the Excel as a CSV already? I.e. have you eliminated that the problem source is Excel doing Excel things and being weird?

Please bear in mind that OAS 6.4 is the 2022 version and isn't officially supported anymore. Right now OAS 2023 (7.0) is still supported (until March 2025) and the current version is OAS 2024 (7.6).

"when I add more rows" does sound a bit like a size issue. Is the Excel file really long? Is it suepr wide? Do you have some indications as to its parameters (rows, columns, size,…)

To add, there is a limit
Create Datasets from Files

You can create datasets from Microsoft Excel spreadsheets (XLSX and XLS), Google Sheets, CSV files, and TXT files. The maximum file size you can upload is 250 MB and the data column limit for a single file is 250 columns.
