i installed the oracle BI administration tool correctly from start to finish but I am not seeing the open "in the cloud" option, how come this is? I need this option to connect to my oracle Autonomous DB in the cloud. This is where I installed it from https://www.oracle.com/middleware/technologies/business-intelligence-v12214-downloads.html

    Ok, I see now :)

First, you can uninstall the OBIEE 12.2.1.4 you installed. Get rid of that and get back 2+Gb of disk, you will not need it because it's the wrong version.

You can get the OAC client tool by going to https://www.oracle.com/middleware/technologies/oac-tools-downloads.html and clicking on "Oracle Analytics Client Tools Latest Update". It will take you to the edelivery site where you can download the latest OAC client tool (should be 7.9.0 at this time).

  • Hi,

I'm maybe not understanding your question correctly…

You mean the "In the Cloud…" option to open an RPD? That is an option coming with newer versions of the Model Administration Tool. If you installed the OBIEE 12.2.1.4 version, that's 6-7 years old and didn't have that option.

But do you need it? Do you have OAC? Because that's the only product you can use the "In the Cloud…" option with: it's meant to open the RPD from an OAC instance.

Using an Autonomous DB as database in your RPD, isn't at all related to this option.

Maybe if you describe more in detail what you would like to achieve, what products (and versions) you are working with, it will be possible to give you a better answer.
