OAS 2023(7.0): Dataset Counts Lower Than Expected On Content Management UI
We are currently using Oracle Analytics Server (OAS) 7.0 and I've encountered an issue while trying to extract the number of Oracle Analytics DV assets from the content management page.
Here's the situation:
- The counts for workbooks and dataflows appear to be accurate.
- However, the number of datasets reported is significantly lower than expected.
This discrepancy is particularly problematic because the datasets that are not appearing on the content management page are also not visible to the administrator. Consequently, we're unable to change the ownership of these datasets and the person owning these datasets have left the organization.
Has anyone experienced similar issues or have any insights into why the dataset count might be incorrect? Any suggestions on how to resolve this issue would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks in advance!

Are these Datasets under Users (My Folders) or Shared folders ?
you may use DV Governance from
let me know if this will show All Datasets then we can try to change the ownership for all

Thanks! I'll ask our admin to run the plugin to see if we can locate those missing datasets. But I'm curious: how can we change the ownership of datasets that aren't listed on the content management page?

@Mostafa Morsy-Oracle Sorry I forgot to mention in my previous comment that these datasets are under the shared folder.

Hello @Dhaval Parikh Stantec
Click on the Navigator > Data > Dataset
You can assign permission to your dataset, assuming they are present.

@Nehemias-Oracle I am not trying to change the permissions on the datasets I own. The owner of these datasets has left the organization, and we are trying to port over the ownership of his datasets to someone else in the team

@Dhaval Parikh Stantec My understanding is, the administrator is not able to see these datasets under DV Console > Data > Datasets tab as well? Please confirm.

@BalagurunathanBagavathy-Oracle Administrators can see the datasets under Data>Datasets tab in DV but not on the console > content management page in DV. The datasets on the console> content management page is where our admins typically go to change the ownership on the assets.

@Dhaval Parikh Stantec As an administrator, please inspect one of such datasets and grant full access to another administrator and verify if the dataset appears under console> content management page.
