OAS DV Console (Users and Groups) - allow to create application role with space in middle of name
I am referring here ER/Bug 35419126 : UNABLE TO CREATE APPLICATION ROLE WITH SPACE IN MIDDLE FROM OAS DV CONSOLE PAGE, created on Oracle support.
Currently it is not possible to use DV Console (Users and Groups) for creation of application role, containing space in the middle of it's name - system does a check and prevents you to create such application role. But there is no reason for that, because OPSS does allow to create application role with space in the middle. This check in DV Console should be dropped then to allow creation of such role in DV console (we have to use Fusion Middleware Control/EM for creation of such role, but we want to switch to DV console).

Oracle Analytics uses Fusion Middleware Application Roles. The OA Console enforces the restrictions documented here: https://docs.oracle.com/en/middleware/fusion-middleware/platform-security/12.2.1.4/jisec/aptrouble.html#GUID-A6384D9E-4E7A-498D-806D-66E16D6D0B93
It now seems likely these documented naming restrictions may be relaxed. Once this happens, Oracle Analytics will look to adopt any changes to the naming rules.

@Adam Bloom-Oracle Hi Adam, yes, this has been conclusion of SR 3-32405686561 : OAS 6.4 Spaces in application role name I opened with Oracle support, which resulted into ER 35419126. So I hope, that OPSS team will soon update documentation to drive the change of implementation in DV console.

@Adam Bloom-Oracle Hi Adam, just wanted to ask, if there is any plan from Oracle to remove this restriction from DV Console (not allowing to create application roles with spaces in the middle of name) ? Thanks.

@Michal Zima The Fusion Middleware documentation was recently changed and spaces are now allowed int the underlying policy store. OAC will follow suit and will allow spaces in application role names. This change is not in the November update but is in progress. This change is likely (but not yet confirmed) to be in the next update of OAS.
