Greetings Community, there have been a modification that has been made on this Local Subject Area (in OAC):

But the problem is, all steps in the making of this dataset remains as-is:

So the question/concern is, what exactly the change that was made 5 days ago?
Thank You in Advance for your time and efforts :)

  • If you have enabled audit log for OAC, then you can see the modified by user information as well which could lead to some clue as to what happened.

@Vismay Barot I did the following test ,I opened Dataset - Sales Order and edit definition ,added one column ,removed the added column and saved it ,then modified date is getting changed.

In your case also ,though the same columns exists before and after ,there is a chance that some changes to the dataset could be done and reverted the changes and saved the dataset .Therefore modified column is getting refreshed to 5 days ago.

Also just opening dataset ,perform no changes ,just click on save.Modified column on dataset is changing.

Thank You @Ram-Oracle , so at this specific time, I was in the meeting with our NSAW Implementation Team and I am pretty sure that this dataset was never opened as a whole.

But FYI, we're working with a Workbook that was using this Dataset:

And I suspect that Number of Joins were 7 that got changed to 6.
But please note, the workbook wasn't saved.

So how exactly did Dataset got modified?

Please change the join conditions to 5 from join diagram and see if the modified date is changing to check the behavior

  • In DV the links between sources are saved in the sources so the tool knows they existed once somewhere and next time you use it, it does reuse that link (never looked into the details, not something I cared about).

If you edited the links in the sources of a workbook, even without saving the workbook, the links have been saved back in the source.

I never looked at the details, but historically in the product, the modified date was more a FYI thing that a guaranteed bulletproof information that is always right. I would take it for what it is, just an information, more than something to trust.

A change in a metadata of that source, even just to say that once it was linked with "QuotaV Data…" by join 1, 2, 3 is enough to justify a "modified" date update.

    Hi @Vismay Barot

    I would suggest,

If your looking for an reason why its got modified/what modified ,better to log an SR to team to review the logs further.
