HTML Report returns results, PDF report does not return results
Hey Everyone,
I am a newbie but am trying to get up to speed. So I built a data model and report using an RTF template. When I view the results in HTML it looks fine. I can export to Excel and it looks good as well. However, when I try to export to PDF I get some problems I'd like to resolve:
- When I click the small PDF icon at the top right it shows a screen showing a PDF icon and xdo with an open button
- I would prefer this to be a preview of the pdf on screen. Not sure if that would be bad if it's a large PDF. This isn't a big priority but would be something I'd like to understand how to turn on/of
- When I click Open it opens a new tab that looks like a webpage, not a pdf. I believe I can hit CTRL-P to print it to PDF, but thought it would make more sense to directly download to PDF instead of loading it in the browser.
- Lastly, the biggest issue. When I click Open. I go to the new tab and the layout is displayed but has no data. It does say RTF Template in the browser title which makes me think it's displaying the template instead of the data I expected. I'd really appreciate some advice on this.

Can you please try to download the PDF using the following method? As sometime the preview does not work.

Attached is the report catalog.
I also observed there isn't an export to CSV option either. I would appreciate help making that an option. I would expect it to export the same as Excel, but for large files, CSV can often be a preferred way to store the data.

Hi @User_9ZFXH,
I got your report but as the data model is not there I'm not able to generate it in my instance for pdf output.
To Enable the CSV, please enable the following as highlighted in Yellow and save the report to see if it brings CSV or not.
Which browser are you using? try with any separate browser or clear browser cache cookies of existing browser and do a fresh login to generate the pdf.

I think I now realize I can click export from the gear icon and select pdf and it works as expected. I guess it's just that the preview doesn't show up which I select pdf. It is a few pages, so may be it just doesn't open if its over a few pages.

Just thinking through usability. If the screen just shows PDF Open, I would prefer it just export instead of opening the new tab with no data.
