Presentation layer does not work.

Hello guys,

I hope someone here can point me in the right direction. I'm having a hell of a time bringing up my presentation services.

Here is what I have done and the subsequent error.

I have a VM running windows server 2008 I have installed OBIEE 12c I have followed the directions to the "T" I'm able to bring up the administration console.

Every attempt to bring the obips1 server fails with a message like so.

What i'm I doing wrong can anyone offer some advice.

please check log files speifically the obis1 and obips1 logs which you can find under the ORACLE_HOME\user_projects\domains\bi\servers directory.

As a side note ....

OBIEE 12c isn't certified with Windows 2008, only with Windows 2012 and 2012 R2.

So if at some point things doesn't work anymore .... will be difficult to get any official support ...

Thanks for the response I appreciated. Even more bizarre it appears I'm getting a windows7 error on a machine running window server 2008. Do you have any ideas on how to fix this?

I didn't noticed that tidbit. Everything else works except for that item... I feel like I'm so close. Any Idea if I can get it up and running.

a) Don't use an unsupported OS

b) Don't use the .0 release but the actual current .1 release

These symptoms look like Windows DEP issue. Try to add sawserver.exe to exceptions.

PS. I strongly agree with @Gianni Ceresa and @Christian Berg about using only supported platforms.
